As a leader in apprenticeship training, our Training Centre is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of skilled tradespeople. With decades of collective experience and a passion for craftsmanship, our instructors are now committed to providing hands-on, comprehensive education that prepares apprentices for successful careers in these specialized trades. Administered through accredited training institutions and overseen by provincial apprenticeship boards, the Brick & Stone Masonry Level 1 apprenticeship program combines theoretical learning with practical hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced mentors.

Level 1 training will cover the modules: Use & Maintain Hand Tools, Wall System Accessories, Use Material Handling & Safety Equipment, Mortar, Engineering, Building & Safety Code, Masonry Unit Preparation, Worksite Preparation, Job Layout, Acclimatize worksite, Structural Masonry, Clean & Disassemble Worksite and Non-Structural Masonry.

Your attendance throughout the 8 weeks is mandatory.

Participants require: Appropriate clothing, CSA approved Work Boots, eye protection, and safety hat.

This program offers aspiring cement finishers a structured curriculum designed to impart essential skills and knowledge necessary for success in their career. Level 1 training will cover the modules: History and Scope of (concrete) Finisher Trade, Communications & Presentations, Trade Calculations & Presentation, Pictorial Drawing & Layout Tools, Construction Safety, Hand Tools, Power Tools Equipment, Concrete Technology and Site Preparation.

The apprenticeship program combines practical, hands-on training with classroom instruction, facilitated by experienced professionals in the field. Apprentices learn to interpret blueprints, prepare surfaces, mix and apply concrete, and use a variety of tools and techniques to achieve precise finishes. Safety protocols and regulations are emphasized throughout the training to instill a culture of workplace safety and compliance.

The curriculum combines theoretical learning with practical hands-on training, facilitated by certified instructors. Upon completion of the training, participants receive a certification recognized across Canada. Valid for 3 years.

This is a 4 hour course which enables you to renew your expiring or expired certificate for 3 years. It is necessary to possess a previous certificate of full completion of this course.
